HBP recommends building your project in page layout programs such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXpress. The following list of tips will make your job more efficient. * Do not use font "styles". If the font does not have a bold or italic version, don't tag it that way. * Include all images and links * All color documents and/or imported color files should be CMYK or PMS spot color (not RGB). CMYK images should not be used in a spot color job * Delete unused colors from the color palette in your application. Do not use multiples of the same color (ie: Pantone 340 C, Pantone 340 CV, 340 CVC) * Scans and non-vector based art should be 300 DPI resolution at the placed size * Lineart/Bitmap images should be a minimum of 900 DPI * Remove all unused text or graphics from the pasteboard outside the document image area * Keep text and objects no closer than 1/8" from the trim * Items that print to the trim should extend (bleed) 1/8" past the trim * Do not "float" your document on an oversized page * When more than one fold is used, such as in a trifold brochure, the panel sizes will reduce as the folds accumulate (Contact your CSR for panel measurements) * MS Word, MS Office, and other Word programs are not intended programs for color printing * When creating a coil bound book do not set up your document as "facing pages." There will be no room for bleeds at the bind * Spell check your files
